Sharing is caring and gifting a basic human need like food is my purpose
Auckland
Hi dears,
Recently I read a post on my FB group where a family of four was living on a grocery budget of $28 a week. $28 a week!! How on earth can anyone manage that I thought. I can go out to lunch during work and buy some sushi, a cold drink and some snacks and it would cost about the same. There are people in our community in our country suffering on a daily basis, too ashamed to ask for help that need a little help.
Recently I opened a Facebook group after witnessing first-hand the crisis that is food shortage.
I belong to a few groups on Facebook where every day people help everyday people. What I noticed is that people with very little were offering food to those that had nothing. This inspired me to create Free Food Gifting – Auckland NZ https://www.facebook.com/Free-Food-Gifting-Auckland-NZ-353146442176347/
My group allows members to share food, groceries, veg and anything they have spare to people in need.
I myself am fortunate enough to be in a position where I am able to help however I don’t have the resources to maintain this. I wanted to reach out to you and find out if you were in a position to help me, help our community by donating a little that I can use to gift back to our community by buying food and distributing it.
Would this be something you would be interested in helping me with.
I am not a registered not for profit organisation, I don’t make money out of this, I am not sponsored by anyone or any company, I do it because I genuinely care about people and their struggles in life.
I know I am only a drop in the ocean and I am hoping that the more drops that join me in my cause, will create a new ocean for us all.
Big dreams for a little person, but I am trying and I am genuinely asking for some help because I cannot achieve what needs to be achieved on my own.
Kindest regards
Louise
I would buy groceries and food and distribute it to people are in less fortunate positions than we are.
