Fundraising to make my way to Japan, on student exchange! To study arts and animation.
Hokitika, West Coast
Hello!
My name is Bless//Jazz Groome, I am a kiwi girl from the West Coast of NZ!
I’m a year 13 student, and Arts Leader at Westland High School, and have been offered a once in a lifetime chance to visit Japan!
My plans for the future are to became/get a job in ‘Animation’ to work for places like Disney, Dreamwork, Spindlehorse etc! And this trip to Japan could really help me with that. Japan is one of the leading countries when it comes to animation, and anime had always been by biggest inspiration. So being able to explore the studios, meet the people and more is a very exiting consept!
That’s where I need your help. I’m not in the position financially to be able to afford to go on this trip, altogether, including insurance, would come to around $8000-$10000 NZD. So that’s why I’m here! To ask for help to make this trip happen. Though, I won’t just be asking for the money, I’ll be doing something in return for you!
If my name Is familiar that may be because of my business. I have been running a small business under the name BlessedArtzNZ. Famous for my PRIDE LGBTQIA+ card set! But I also sell a multitude of other products, and so, when you make a donation of certain amounts, you will also get a ‘thank you’ gift in the mail! (That is if I achieve my goal). Please share your details with me when you donate so I can contact you about this.
So please, help me make this dream come true, and thank you in advance for all the support. :]

It will go toward the program fee’s, that are due on the 23rd of August. So I have a very limited time frame to achieve funding.
Update, Photos, And Thank You Gifts! 16 March 2024
Hello everyone! Thank you for your patience, I’m sorry I took so long to update you all, but I have quite the story. After I arrived back in NZ, I had brought back a Japanese Covid strain that had me bed ridden for almost a month- as well as came back with Trench foot since I wore my snow boots on the plane. So, I’ve been resting, and getting back on my feet! But I had the best time in japan, even with the earthquakes, I felt more homesick when I came back to NZ than I did while in japan! It was a beautiful country, I made so many friends, had an amazing host family. It couldn’t have gone better, and I will always remember this trip. (I’m definitely making an effort to go back again, I felt more at home in japan than anywhere else I’ve ever been!)
Now, on my trip, I always made sure to remember that I wouldn’t have been there if it wasn’t for everyone here. So, I have bought back some things, snacks and trinkets, to cards and origami. And I would like to share them with you. I have brought back enough to share with every donor on this website, and out, so if you’d like to receive the gifts I’ve brought back, please fill out the Google form I have linked below!
I have so many words, but not enough space to write it all here. I’ll be uploading some photos of my trip and my favourite places and times with this update. Thank you all for everything!!
