I want to support people who need a service dog while also supporting training my own.
Waikato
Hi, my name is Kira and I’m currently training an assistance dog under K9SMD. Going through the process I’ve learnt how expensive it is for disabled people to get such an important part of living, it can get more that $20,000 for a dog to be trained for you.
While also being able to help support my training, I want to donate to the organization, K9SMD, I’m working with to give forward for others who need an assistance dog. They have recently been granted full access rights by the government meaning they can certify disability assistance dogs. They have been doing all of the behind the scenes training while not getting funding from the government to build their facility or provide for their dogs
Thank you for helping me and other disabled people in New Zealand.
Training my service dog and donating to K9SMD
Donation 21 September 2021
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far,
I’m so grateful for all the support. I’ve had the first payment from the page which was $647 after the page fees, which means I’ve been able to pay for our recent Public Access Test. I’ve also done a 15% donation to K9SMD of $97 at this point but more will keep being given over time. Thanks again everyone.
