Help me represent New Zealand at the 2026 UCI Junior Downhill MTB World Championships
Help me get to the 2026 Downhill Mountain Bike World Championships in Italy in August 2026 to compete in the Junior women’s category.

Hi, I’m Millie Waite, a 16-year-old downhill mountain bike racer from Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand.
I’m incredibly excited and proud to have been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2026 UCI Junior Downhill World Championships in Val di Sole, Italy, this August. Representing New Zealand at a World Championship has been a goal of mine for a long time, and I’m looking forward to racing against the best junior riders in the world.
Mountain biking has been a huge part of my life for years, alongside 8 years of BMX racing. I grew up spending weekends riding and racing with my dad and brother, and those experiences helped develop my love for the sport. Racing has taught me commitment, resilience, and the value of hard work.
Recent results include:
• 3rd NZ Downhill Nationals 2026 (Junior)
• 2nd Crankworx Rotorua 2026 (U19), including 10th in Elite Women
• 3rd NZ Downhill Nationals 2025 (U17)
Like many junior athletes, competing internationally comes with significant costs. To help make this trip possible, I’ve been seeking sponsorship and support through local businesses and fundraising efforts.
Funds raised will help cover travel, accommodation, race entries, bike transport and equipment costs. My dad will be travelling with me to provide race support and help keep my bike running smoothly throughout the event.

🇳🇿 Home from Europe – Thank You for Making It Possible 7 September 2026
I’m now back home in New Zealand after an incredible few weeks in Europe and wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported me along the way.
I had the opportunity to race at the UCI Downhill World Cup in Les Gets, France, and represent New Zealand at the 2026 UCI Junior Downhill World Championships in Val di Sole, Italy.
The conditions in Les Gets were extremely muddy, and after a few crashes I missed qualifying. At the World Championships, I ran off track during my race and missed out there as well. While the racing didn’t quite go to plan, the results were never the main focus for me. The experience of travelling to Europe, racing at this level, and representing New Zealand was what this trip was all about.
I’ve learned so much, met some amazing people, and gained valuable experience that will help me moving forward in my racing.
