Help Me Stay Afloat After Sudden Job Loss

Facing sudden job loss, $34,000 debt, and no family support — I urgently need your help to get through this tough time.

Auckland

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart. I’ve recently found out that the site where I work is shutting down completely. Sadly, the company isn’t offering any redundancy payout, which has left me extremely stressed, worried, and struggling. This was my only source of income to survive.

On top of that, I have a large debt of $34,000 with Gem Visa, and to make matters worse, I had to borrow $5,000 and $3,000 from friends just to pay off my credit cards, which were charging even higher interest. Now, I’m stuck paying back these debts, while also managing rent, bills, insurance, and groceries that just keep piling up.

I have no financial support from family or anyone else, and right now, I’m doing everything I can to keep going — but it’s getting harder every day. I’m feeling overwhelmed and scared about what’s ahead.

If you can spare anything at all, even just a little, it would mean the world to me. Your kindness and support would help me stay afloat and give me a chance to rebuild.

Thank you so much for reading my story and for any help you can give.

Use of funds

The money will be used to pay off urgent debts (including personal loans from friends), cover rent, bills, groceries, and basic living costs while I search for a new job.
