Providing adventure for a disabled young man via a road trip of the South Island. Skydiving, rafting, paragliding...
Nationwide
I met Noel Skeeze when we were patients together at Burwood Spinal Unit.
'Skeeze' is a young guy, 23, who at 16 was passenger in a car accident and as a result he was left nearly completely paralyzed, C5 Tetraplegic.
Apart from Hospital check-ups Skeeze hasn't seen the many treasures or experienced any of the adventure activities the South Island is blessed to have.
I would like to bring him down to experience a road trip through Franz josef glazer, Haast pass, Milford, Wanaka, Queenstown and experience skydiving, rafting, sailing the fjords and more!....And ultimately inspire others in similar situations with the video.
I'm a local skydiver who had just started my professional skydiving career when a broken back and pelvis changed my path. I'm on my own road to recovery and will hopefully skydive again but what inspires me more is to see Noel and others like him push their boundaries and experience life.
With the help from my mate Jezza at "Making Trax" (www.makingtrax.co.nz) and my contacts all over the adventure industry I want to make this a memorable journey for Skeeze.
We were patients at Burwood Spinal Unit together, and I want to see this young man have an adventure or two!
The funds will be used to provide fuel and specialized accommodation for Noel and his 3 carers. We intend to get sponsorship for the activities. Any funds left over will go to the next crazy para wanting a road trip or go to parafed.
