Help me to remove metal trash from the ground

$5 donated
Given by 1 generous donor in one year

Raise money to help fund myself to make the earth a cleaner and safer place to be and live. Removing buried metal trash from the ground.

Wellington

I’m a Metal Detectorist, I enjoy my hobby, and do it as much as I possibly can. It’s such a rewarding experience knowing I’m making the earth a better place, and safer for everyone. Including wildlife. I don’t want anyone to step on a sharp object, or a bird to get its beak stuck on a ring pull. Or even swallow a piece of metal rubbish.

There’s metal rubbish and trash buried in every beach, park, reserve, anywhere people have been. From the surface you wouldn’t know.

Occasionally I will find some treasures, coins and artefacts. Which I will sell or donate to collectors, other stuff goes to the metal recyclers, it all helps to cover my expenses. Most days I’m at a loss. And out of pocket. I average about $2 per hour. But it’s not about the money, it’s about the community aspect, and doing my part, I love what I do,

I’m all about reuse, recycle, repurpose. I’ve removed 200kgs of metal from the earth and sea last year.

I wish to take my hobby further afield, and do this more often. Hopefully oneday full time, I don’t like asking for money, but anything given will be greatly appreciated. And helps.

I take photos of everything I find, and publish them to my social media accounts. Instagram and Facebook. Search “the view in Wellington” if you wish to follow me, and share, this also helps me if you can’t donate. Well I need many followers before I can monetise.

I also do side ventures, looking for lost items, I did a bullet recovery a few weeks back, catch a poacher, but this is also at my cost. I think of others before myself.

Use of funds

Any money raised will be used to help cover my expenses like petrol so I can travel further afield, maintaining my metal detecting equipment, upgrading to better gear, or buying more equipment so I can expand areas I can detect on.
