Melissa is a single Mum who needs treatment for Breast Cancer, this page is to help with living expenses over the time of her treatment.
Auckland
Hi Friends and Family,
As some of you may know unfortunately Melissa (Milsey, Mils, Mel, Mama, Aunty, Midwife) has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. As you can imagine this has been a huge shock (for all of us) and its been an anxious few weeks for her while getting all the results and treatment plans in place.
She is booked in for a mastectomy and will then have chemotherapy and radiation to make sure she kicks the C-word in the butt!
The whole process is going to take about a year and will involve initially 4 weeks off work for the operation and then no doubt many more days off over the next year while she continues her treatment.
Melissa has no leave (being a single Mum all her sick leave goes to looking after the kids!) As amazing as her work have been, all this time off will be un-paid so this page is truly just to help her with living expenses over the next year.
As you probably all know Melissa is one of the most kind and caring people/midwife on the planet, she has worked in the CMDHB for years and cared for many women and babies with our community, this couldn't have happened to a less deserving person, she is a Single Mum by choice to the gorgeous Nate and Tilly, as well as supporting Mum in retirement and over the years has been a huge support to many friends and family, but as we all know cancer definitely doesn't discriminate.
So on a positive note - lets all help Melissa so she is not stressed over this time and can solely concentrate on getting better!
Any help is appreciated no matter how big or small, and even if you have no $$ to give then positive thoughts go a long way :o)
Thanks heaps - the McCarron family xx
