Help MenzShed Kapiti Build New Facilities

  • Ready Set for Stage 2 of the Development

    The old concrete foundations and floor slab near the entry to the MenzShed site is now just a memory thanks to Goodman Contractors who arrived with a digger and truck and tore up the old concrete and carted it away. With the garage nearing completion, the building team at the Shed can now begin the setting out of the foundations for the new amenities building.

  • Gardens and Landscape Look Great

    The small team of the outdoor blokes at the Shed have done a great job of turning the wilderness and dump area at the rear of the MenzShed site into a park like setting with the landscaping, retaining walls and terrific garden boxes. Their green fingers turn out great supplies of fresh vegetables with good quantities going to the Kapiti Food Bank.

  • Garage nearing completion

    The guys building the garage have continued with their work and all the external cladding is completed with just some flashings and corner trim to complete. The roller doors were installed end May 2019 and most of the internal lining and bracing is complete. Just awaiting some mains entry cable to put up thru the wall to get the last sheet of internal ply on the wall. The guys building the garage are enjoying their dedicated work area and do not have to compete with the other 30 to 40 guys across the other side of the yard for their workshop space.

  • Construction of Garage Continues

    The construction of the garage has made good progress with the small team of Shed members lead by Murray with his regular experienced hands of Brent and Brian with others also lending a hand. Once all the framework and roof structure was completed, the great guys from Hurricane Roofing rolled up and put the roof on for us. Many thanks to JD and his team.

  • Commencing New Building Programme

    The start of the new building programme at the MenzShed Kapiti site got underway in August 2018 starting with the building of the 45sq m garage near the gate. A team of guys at the Shed are undertaking the work. The concrete foundations for the garage were poured beginning Oct 2018 and the concrete floor completed by end November.
