Help Mikayla with her rent while her Dad fights Leukemia
After an awful couple of years, cancer strikes again. Help Mikayla pay for her rent in Dunedin while she maintains the family home.

In 2017 Mikayla lost her mum Adele to metastatic breast cancer. While coping with this loss Mikayla fell ill with several chronic illnesses. Battling through these, she went back to Uni after pausing her studies to look after Adele. Starting her post-grad honours year at Otago University, 2019 started off well. Just before Easter her dad Chris was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia and Mikayla returned home to the Wairarapa to look after the household. Adding insult to injury (literally) Mikayla fell and broke her foot on Easter Monday. Help Mikayla pay her rent in Dunedin while she recovers from her injury, continues her studies and prepares the house for Chris' eventual return from hospital.

Use of funds
The funds raised from this page will be used to pay Mikayla's rent in Dunedin while she is in the Wairarapa. As well as flights between Welly and Dunedin, this will help pay for household maintenance and any expenses such as hospital parking and petrol.

Mikayla and her dad have settled into the Margaret Stewart hospice while he continues to receive his treatment. The closing date will be extended to allow for the cost of Mikayla being in Wellington to be covered by more potential donations. Thank you all so much for donating, it has made such a difference.
