Help Mikey Reach His Car T Therapy Overseas

Hey everyone,

Mikey, our dear friend, has been battling non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (PMBCL – Primary Mediastinal Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma) since March 2025. Mikey and his family would like to sincerely thank everyone who supported the previous Givealittle page. Your generosity and kindness helped fund his immunotherapy treatment, which he has now received.

Since then, Mikey completed radiation therapy, which initially showed promise. Unfortunately, due to the aggressive nature of the cancer, it spread before the treatment could fully eliminate it. Mikey has also faced several serious complications, including fluid around his heart and lungs and two surgeries for a perianal abscess, which caused him to miss both of his scheduled CAR T-cell therapy appointments.

Following specialist advice, Mikey proceeded with immunotherapy injections instead. While the treatment is working, it is not curative on its own. Specialists have advised that Mikey will need further treatment followed by CAR T-cell therapy (the preferred option) or a stem cell transplant, which is more toxic and less effective.

Mikey remains eligible for CAR T therapy overseas, but it is not funded in New Zealand. This Givealittle page aims to raise $500,000 to help him access this treatment abroad. Any donation, big or small, will help give Mikey the best possible chance to continue his fight. If the funds are no longer needed, any remaining money will be donated to the Blood Cancer Foundation
