Paragliding accident - help Milan and Miriam recover.
Whangarei, Northland
Milan broke his back on Thursday April 27 in a paragliding accident while on holiday in NZ visiting his family - his first trip home to see them in 3 years.
He was due to fly back to England that weekend with his fiancé to resume work and begin the final stages of preparation for their wedding on September 28. Instead he was airlifted to Whangarei hospital where he is now, awaiting surgery.
With a small floating bone particle in his spine (alongside his fractures), he requires surgery to remove it and prevent risk to his spinal cord. If successful, recovery may take some months.
Milan and Miriam were going to be spending the next few months working to finance their wedding and new life in England, and now without income and an extended unplanned stay in New Zealand we would love to help make their planned wedding continue as a reality. They had recently paid a deposit on a wedding venue and we would love to see them be able to still get married there as planned.
Any help will also assist them in covering rent / expenses while they aren’t earning alongside new flights to get them home to England after Milan recovers.
I am Milan’s Aunt
Finish paying for their wedding venue so they don’t lose their deposits, flights back to England and cover of rent while they aren't in England and earning during Milan’s surgery recovery. Possible visa extension costs while they remain in NZ.

Update May 6, 2023
Milan has been discharged from Hospital to start a full recovery from home. This is a huge step but still leaves quite a significant recovery ahead. The next six weeks will see Milan getting confident on his feet (he currently is starting to walk with crutch assistance and pain medication) and this will give his back time to heal. Milan has said if anyone wants advice with post-op constipation, prune juice is the way!! ;)
After these initial six weeks he will have an assessment appointment to approve him starting physiotherapy. And then potentially another six weeks of strengthening and conditioning his back and surrounding muscles. Milan wanted to say he is so overwhelmed with the generosity of everyone who has donated. Both him and Miriam wanted me to say this -
“we all cannot believe the support and love we have received, thank you all so much, we are blessed beyond words. We cannot thank you all enough and we value you all your messages and donations so, so much. We love you all” ♥️
