Help Mollie Celebrate Life After Cancer Treatment

Hi everyone,

This fundraiser is for my friend Mollie Kroon. Mollie has been my first friend since way back in 2005 when we met at primary school — so basically, she’s family (my mum even calls her her “non-biological daughter”).

Mollie is currently battling Ewing’s Sarcoma for the second time. This rare and aggressive cancer first appeared in her pelvis in 2017. Late last year, it unfortunately returned – this time in her spine.

She finished chemo in July and just had major spinal surgery where doctors removed a vertebra and put in a titanium cage. Right now, she’s in hospital learning to walk again — and knowing Mollie, she’ll probably be faster than expected. Despite all of this, she’s still the funniest person I know and somehow manages to keep everyone else laughing through it all. That’s just who she is.

This fundraiser isn’t about medical bills. It’s about giving Mollie something fun to look forward to when she’s recovered. The plan is to fly her over to the Gold Coast to spend some time with me, and then (fingers crossed) head down to Melbourne for the Australian Open — something she’s always wanted to do.
