Raising urgent funds to help a widowed mother of three in Burundi receive life-saving treatment before she becomes permanently paralysed.
International
Michelle was my student — bright, determined, and full of potential. But life in Burundi during the civil war left her with deep scars, including untreated injuries that are now threatening to leave her permanently paralysed. She is already in a wheelchair!
She’s a widow and a mother of three young children who depend on her. Day by day, her condition worsens. Doctors believe she still has a chance — if she can get urgent treatment abroad. But that kind of care simply doesn’t exist in Burundi, and her family can’t afford it.
I’m raising funds on her behalf to cover the cost of medical care, travel, and rehabilitation. Every dollar brings us closer to giving this mother a second chance — not just to walk again, but to live with dignity and be there for her children.
Please help if you can. Her life — and the future of her children — depends on it.
She was my student in Burundi, and I’ve stayed in touch with her and her family ever since.
The money will be used for her medical treatment abroad in France, including travel costs, surgery, hospital care, and rehabilitation.
