Help Nala Recover
Te Ariki has been a member of the border collie community for some years and i have always had a soft spot for beautiful Nala. Just over three weeks ago, Te Ariki’s beautiful fur baby, Nala (5), slipped on a set of wet stairs and was left noticeably lame. After x-rays and specialist assessments, it was confirmed that Nala had ruptured her cruciate ligament and required TTO surgery.
Today, Nala underwent surgery and is recovering under specialist care for the next 24 hours.
Anyone who knows Te Ariki and his whanau knows how deeply he loves Nala. He spent a long time researching the breed before bringing her home and has always gone above and beyond to give her the happiest, healthiest life possible. Seeing her in pain has been incredibly hard.
While Nala is covered by Southern Cross pet insurance, cruciate ligament surgery is only partially funded, leaving a significant financial shortfall alongside ongoing rehabilitation and recovery costs. This is really disappointing and a reminder to us all about darned pet insurance.
We would love to help ease some of that burden so Te Ariki can focus fully on helping Nala heal and get back to the happy, playful girl she normally is. We all know how tough times are financially...especially for expected bills like this.
If you are able to donate — no matter how small — or even simply share Nala’s story, it would mean the world to both Te Ariki and Nala and whanau.
Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and aroha.
Much respected member of our border collie community and friend.
Money will go towards vet bills...surgery and rehabilitation.
