Help us all breath easer
Taranaki
Hello my name is Matthew I’m a little prem baby born at 34 weeks because my umbilical cord was not attached to my placenta properly and it was also over the cervix. This is very rare 1/8,000 births. The condition had a high mortality rate if not found early so I’m lucky.
The problem is I have trouble eating so I eat through a feeding tube. I also don’t breath well in my sleep so am at high risk of SIDDS. Mummy and daddy would like to get me a monitor that goes on my foot when I sleep to keep an eye on my heart and breathing. They promise to donate the device when I no longer need it so another family can sleep more easily.
Thank you
From Mr Matthew

A breathing and heart rate sleep monitor.
Any excess funds will be used for other medical costs such as chiropractor, probiotics, physiotherapy, and trips to the hospital.
Thank you 1 August 2024
We are very grateful for everyone who has donated to help Matthew. We borrowed the money to get the monitor straight away and we have it up and working . Last night the alarm for low oxygen went off and it woke us up which was perfect because it gives Matthew the ability to rouse and reset his breathing preventing SIDDS.
We have more ongoing medical costs which we will use any other donations for. These include chiropractor, needing probiotics, physiotherapy, and trips to the hospital.
He is still needing to be tube feed as he struggles to swallow which is related to his breathing problem.
We are all very humbled and grateful for this help as we expected a baby to be expensive but this was above and beyond what we had anticipated.
Lots of love from Mr Matthew and his parents
