Help my dad with his recovery

14th Feb our Dad was in a work accident where he has suffered severe injuries.

Our father fell 2.5 metres off the back of a truck head first. He has fractured his skull, has bleeding on the left of his brain with internal bleeding pockets throughout.

Dad has several facial fractures including a fracture on his forehead bone, he has fractured both orbital bones around his eyes, he has fractured his T7 and T9 on the spine and ruptured the fluid sacks In between.

While we are waiting for his body to heal, his eyes are sealed shut from the pressure of the fall, they are bruised and swollen. We pray for the day Dad opens his eyes and can see my sister.

Dad is in the P.A Hospital in Brisbane and my sister is living on the Gold Coast. She travels every day to go see him and be by his side for hours on end. With juggling her work, and her family ... I feel so hopeless.

I want to raise some funds for my dad for anything he may need while in hospital and also to help my sister with traveling costs.

It will allow us to take the time we need to be by his side, pay for any financial commitments that he may need and simply help my family through into this long road ahead of us.

Once dad has been given clearance he is well enough they will operate on his facial fractures.

My sister is teaching him how to walk again, how to eat again and how to talk on command and we wait for the day he opens his eyes and sees her waiting by his bedside.

This fund will allow the help for not only my sister who we are luckily enough to live close to dad but to also help us all to be there for her should that need arise.

It’s a long road to recovery for our father but with the help and support of our communities this will help us get through what we are having to deal with.
