    U11 Dynamos (Mixed) phoebes team

Shout out to our U11 Dynamos who battled hard over the 2 days at the PN Marist Tournament! Although results didn’t go their way, the team played their hearts out and left everything on the court. This team, a mix of HB and Gisborne players, grew their teamwork and cohesion every game. Special mention to coaches Max Fysh & Noah Onuma for all their build-up work and in-tournament coaching!

U13 Girls Tatsumi - maddys team

A fairly young U13 girls squad, coached under Alisa Schlierike, wrapped up their PN Marist Tournament with a loss to Samba Futsal Academy in the semi-finals. Our Tatsumi Girls played every game in high spirits and enjoyed their time on and off the court. They were a great bunch who just keep getting better! This squad also had a mix of HB/Gisborne players, who adapted well to each other’s playing style.

U15G Bay Espresso Elliott and Maddys team.

Our U15 Girls had an impressive 2 days in PN, finishing pool play in second place and earning a spot in the final against a well-drilled Samba team. Heading home with a silver medal, coaches Olivia and Lee were proud of how the team performed. **Well done Ellioth for getting MVP for the whole tournament. Huge achievement!** Most of this squad now shift their focus to YFC in December and the Gold Coast International Cup in January.

Last drive now for nationals and Gold Coast fundraising this month.

  • Winners for under 12 girls reps team

      11 November 2024
    Main image

We are thrilled to share the amazing news that our Under-12 girls' football team has achieved an extraordinary milestone by winning the championship for the first time here in Gisborne! The girls showcased incredible skill and determination, securing victories against strong teams from Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Palmerston North, and Wanganui.

We are immensely proud of their hard work and dedication, and we deeply appreciate your generous support that has made this possible. This success wouldn't have been achievable without your sponsorship and encouragement.

As we look ahead, we have an exciting few months lined up with a lot of futsal activities. Just last Sunday, our team traveled to Napier for a training session. This week, they'll be heading to Palmerston North for a pre-match on Saturday in preparation for a two-day tournament there in a fortnight.

Your continued support is invaluable, and we kindly ask for your help once again. Any donations to assist with travel, training, and participation costs are greatly appreciated by the team and their whanau.

Thank you for being an essential part of our journey and helping these talented young athletes reach new heights.

    Warm regards,

    Sheree Smith

Both Ellie and Maddy have been selected to represent HB Futsal and the Central Region at the NZ National Futsal Youth Championships in the under-15 girls' division. This is an excellent opportunity for them! They will be part of a younger team this year. However, there is an additional cost involved, as the tournament will take place over a week in Wellington this December.

    Update:

Elliott, who is in Year 9, went to the winter tournament as one of the youngest players. Her team achieved an impressive 6th place out of 24 teams.

Madison’s team won their league this year in the Intermediate Super League.

The Grade 12 Gisborne Girls Reps team started off with a bang, winning both games against Hawke’s Bay on the 14th of September.

Thank you for reading this and for any support you can provide over the coming months. Every bit helps.

Elliotts college team have won their league.

What an awesome bunch of kids i had this year to coach.

It was my first year coaching college division, and we had a mixture of boys and girl's, and different schools. I loved how older kids took the new ones under their arms and encouraged them to have a go, try different positions.

    Hey team,

This weekend gone i took 2 of the girls across to Napier (Maddy is injured - tore part of her muscle on the top of her hip at holiday club)

But we arrived Thursday night and they had a blast. Elliott played in the under 16s (Shes only 13 - so found it was hard competition) but loved it. Phoebe was in a under 11 team and loved it. Most of her team were 8–9-year-olds.

They played their little hearts out. Each game gives them new skills.

From here onwards we will be on the road more to get ready for Aussie. The team needs more time to practice together/time on the court.

Next comp is in Palmerston North Nov ish i think.

  • Thanks for all your support thus far

      14 June 2024

July is a busy month for us, and we start travelling to Napier every 2nd Sunday for futsal training.

Then the girls have their local rep trials next weekend.

We were deciding whether to enter them, as that's another big expense ($1000/kid entered), as you have to pay for travel, accommodation, and any new kit. We talked to a few mums and were going to try and save on accommodation by booking a house together.

The girls are also doing well. They are selling two loads of firewood for $250 and making headbands and beanies.

  • Wow what a weekend

Gisborne intermediate travelled to Tauranga on Friday and the girls team won over all. It was a tough competition and close final.

Then we have a under 14 young team compete at Papamoa tournament this Sunday. Luckily Thistle football club supported to help get junior kits, transport and accommodation options. Our 4 junior teams did amazing.

Phoebe my youngest team got 3rd place over all - out of 12 teams from all over northlands. Amazing for a team who never play together.

Then the under 14 girlz won 2 and narrowly lost 2. That put up in the plate cup finals. We won that and got first in the plate. Our final game against hibiscus coast was a hard one. But we won 2-1! They did amazing. Super proud mummy.
