Thanks to all of my supporters, I've done over 400 dog walks and travelled 2600km on my Omeo. Every ride I'm so appreciative of this opportunity.

Our girl is participating and fundraising for the Relay for Life. Are you able to support her to raise funds for Cancer awareness and treatments here in NZ?

You can make a donation to Relay For Life 2023 online at:

    https://relayforlife.org.nz/sienna-wheeler

Again, I thank you all for my freedom.

  • WOW! 1000km ridden in 5 months!

It's been 5 months since my Omeo arrived. Where did the time go? I have never had so much fun getting from A to B as I do riding. People wave, smile and say "cool ride" or have a chat asking questions about how it works. My way of being in this world is boosted every day by comments like "you're amazing" "how incredible" "looks like fun'. And....I love the speed (of course now I want it to go fasterr). Thank you all so much!

"Grab Life by the Wheels" is the slogan of Omeo and when I trialled the Omeo I knew that it would be fun to ride. What I didn’t know, and have learned over the last month of riding, is how it would completely transform my life in almost every way. Riding my Omeo has made a positive influence on those who see and interact with me and this makes me feel wonderfully good. More than a handful of people have reflected back to me that I inspire them. I’m just me but as every ride puts me in a positive frame of mind, I influence others. I laugh and smile more than I have for years. Life isn’t too hard anymore because it’s filled with freedom, learning and adventure.

I knew riding an Omeo was fun but what I didn’t know was that everytime I went out I’d feel like I was riding in a convertible with the top down and wind in my face, that I wouldn’t stop smiling and I’d feel stronger and more confident, that my family would get to enjoy the new improved me by sharing bike rides, hikes and walks together.

Later this week, after the quality control testing, we will be able to give you an indication on when it will be ready.

    Hey Team,

We are almost there with the Omeo. Just waiting....waiting....waiting for it to be built and then delivered.

In the meantime, Omeo Technology are running a competition and if you like, make comments and share this video I could win a competition before I even own one!

That would be funny! Can you help? Here is the URL: https://www.facebook.com/OmeoTechnologyLtd/videos/810859092939826

Lucky us- we found a reasonably priced mobility vehicle.

Still some bugs to work out-like closing the backdoor when you are inside or opening it from inside- but once Omeo arrives, we should be all set!

We have been declined by lottery grants today so we are very thankful to all of you for your donations. Omeo has now been ordered! It may be a few months to build it but hopefully sooner rather than later I'll be riding free.

I love the colour in the picture and look forward to meeting you for coffee when we don't have to unpack you from the car! Lack of lottery not so good but everything else is dropping into place, who knows?

      I'll keep cheerful for you.

Brilliant job Sienna and Andrew, too. :-)

  • True Friends

      7 June 2021

Shane, a friend of mum and dad's in Chch, set up a page called "Walking for Wheels". This is funny because they call my dad wheels- his last name is Wheeler- but also we are getting mum new wheels. Shane walked for 24 hours in Rolleston this weekend. All the donations he got came to our page. Thanks so much Shane.

Mum’s going to be on the radio tomorrow. James and I might hear ourselves singing too from our busking. If you are in Blenhiem tune in Fresh FM 88.9 on Sunday for MS Awareness Day.

They will play it out twice on Sunday. Once at 8.30am and again at 4.01pm.

    Thanks to everyone.

  • Rotary Support

      15 May 2021

Andrew here. The Rotary Club of Blenheim South is now seeking donations through our Charitable Trust Fund and we have offered to support Lisa in her quest for an Omeo which will create freedom and adventure to her after living many years with debilitating MS. In addition to a tax- deductible receipt for all donations through the Club’s Trust, the first 13 people to donate $50 or more will also receive a pack of Sanford’s mussel powder capsules kindly donated by our guest speaker Andrew Stanley last Tuesday.

Lisa indicated to us that the Omeo wheelchair was capable of cross-country activity and it was her goal to take it up the Wither Hills which she has so far been unable to visit.

Wouldn’t it be great to have her start by visiting our Rotary Lookout?

We were very moved when 92 year old Shirley stopped by the house, after reading our story in the paper, to give us a donation. She says her legs take her where she wants to go and she wanted to help. Driving herself and living indepenently- Wow! She also said she doesn't have to worry about dieing young now as she 92. Such a fit able woman who it was a pleasure to meet. You rock! Thank you Shirley.

My friend James and I have been out busking and many people are giving us cash. Mum and Dad keep these donations separate which now has $3,770 in it. Dad says to add that to the Give a little total to see that we are over 1/2 way now. Mum's working on a video from yesterday I think.

Let me tell you about my dad. He's pretty cool. He loves football (soccer). We sometimes wonder if he loves it more than us- just kidding. He volunteers for search and rescue. Last week he helped some one be rescued. Here's the article with video.

We were off to a slow start as another busker was in my favourite spot. They moved on after a bit so then we had a good audience. $90.90 was raised today. We’ll go out again a bunch more times.

    It was fun.
