Nate’s raising funds for a life-changing 15-day World Challenge trip to Cambodia. Any support helps—thank you!
Auckland
Nate’s school – Whangaparaoa College – has offered a group of students the chance to take part in a 15-day World Challenge expedition to Cambodia. It’s an incredible opportunity to explore a new culture, learn about global issues, and build resilience and leadership through real-life experience.
If I had to sum Nate up in three words, they’d be: quiet, kind, and full of wonderlust.
He’s your classic, tall-and-skinny, everyday teenager – nothing flashy, just steady. He’s had to work harder than most due to dyslexia and other learning challenges, but he never gives up. That persistence makes this trip even more meaningful.
Nate’s starting to see there’s a much bigger world out there – and he wants to be part of it. This trip gives him that chance: to grow, connect, and contribute. From learning about sustainability and history to doing real community work, it’ll challenge him in all the best ways.
Nate comes from a long line of missionaries – people who stepped into the unknown and found purpose in giving. This journey continues that spirit.
World Challenge is more than travel. It’s experiential learning in action – encouraging independence, reflection, and global awareness. The itinerary connects back to school through real-world learning: culture, history, environment, and service.
What we’re doing:
– Nate’s mowing lawns part-time and picking up extra work
– I’m working extra hours to help
But the total cost is significant, and we can’t do it alone.
We need help to get him there.
All funds raised will go directly to cover Nate’s costs for the 15-day World Challenge in Cambodia—an educational experience focused on culture, sustainability, leadership, and community. Extra funds raised will go directly to other students on the trip.
Trip Cancelled 10 December 2025
Sadly World CChallenge pulled out of New Zealand and cancelled the trip
