To help with Navryn's costs as part of the NZ team, get to 2023 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship this November, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Waikato
Navryn has been selected to represent NZ at the 2023 ISA World Junior Surfing Championships in U18 age group based on winning the NZ title earlier this year. "Finally, Navryn Malone of Raglan will make his debut after becoming the 2023 Under 18 Boys National Champion in a showstopping display of talent at Piha in January" Surfing NZ.
This will take place between Nov 24th - Dec 3rd, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Nav - to be part of the NZ Junior team, representing NZ in a world surfing event, and the cultural experience of Brazil.
Navryn's surfing achievements include U18 National title, U18 Maori National title, U16 Maori National title, 2nd U16 Nationals, U14 National title, U14 Maori National title, NZ scholastics U14 title, and winning or consistently placed in the top 3 in comps on the NZ surfing circuit over the past 6-7yrs.
Navryn is looking forward to stepping up to the challenge and experience, and finish off his junior surfing years by representing NZ in Rio.
With the trip costing $13,000+ we're hoping to raise funds to help towards costs to get to Rio and compete. This trip is all self-funded by each team athlete - as there is no funding from Surfing NZ or High Performance Sport NZ.
Any support will be greatly appreciated and will go directly towards costs involved (flights, transfers, team uniform, team coach & management, accomodation, food, transport, insurance, ISA fees).
Nga mihi nui.
