  • Kylo update

Thanks again everyone for your generous donations. Kylo is continuing to recover really well with his surgical wounds healing really nicely.

He is still confined to a cage the majority of the time

but is allowed out when supervised so he doesn't get his external pin caught on anything....ouch!!

The external pin is due to come out next week and hopefully Kylo will then have a bit more freedom.

He is in really good spirits and has started giving the dog a hard time so he must be feeling better.

Kylo got his 17 stitches out today! He seems more relaxed. His leg is looking promising (for keeping) yay!! And he's allowed supervised time out of his crate 😁

  • Awesome generosity

Thank you so much to all the generous donors that have given money to help Kylo and his family. It is greatly appreciated and is going a long way towards his surgery costs and ongoing care.

The family have had an interview with Star media today and their story will be available online soon.

I have attached the X-ray that show the terrible fracture in Kylos humerus. The vet, Nick Page of Rolleston Vet services, has done an amazing job at trying to save Kylos leg.

    Thanks again everyone xx

  • Kylo home

Kylo is now at home recovering from surgery. The surgery was complicated and it’s still not guaranteed he will keep his leg due to the nerve damage.

The family were shocked to see their poor cat with the pins in his leg.

It will be a long recovery.

  • Leg saved!!

      4 December 2018

Kylo's surgery went well, he kept his leg! He will be movement restricted for 4-6 weeks, he has an external frame and an internal pin that will both be removed over the next couple of months! Lucky cat!! He'll be home tomorrow or Thursday!

  • Kylo surgery tomorrow

      3 December 2018

Kylo has been assessed today and may have radial nerve damage that may mean his leg will need to be amputated. He is having surgery tomorrow and we will know the outcome then.

Fingers crossed this is not the case and the vet can save his leg.
