"Help Neethu Heal: Support Her Critical Fight"

  • Progress Update

      20 October 2024

Thank you all for your unwavering support and prayers. We are thrilled to share that Neethu has made significant strides in her recovery. Her husband, Joseph, reports that she has regained movement in her left hand and can now recognize familiar faces. Even more encouraging, she has started to eat small amounts of food orally, though she still has an NG tube for feeding.

Although Neethu is still unable to speak and has not yet regained movement on her right side, her progress brings us great hope. Her parents have arrived in New Zealand to offer their love and support to Neethu, Joseph, and their son during this challenging time.

Neethu’s recovery journey is ongoing, and the family continues to need your prayers and encouragement as they navigate the path ahead. At Joseph's request, I will be extending this page for another two months to allow for further updates and continued prayers.

  • Update Regarding Neethu. Thank you all for your support and prayers

      7 October 2024

Current Update Regarding Neethu: Neethu has suffered a pulmonary thromboembolism and a stroke, requiring prolonged ICU treatment. She is currently in the ICU at Wellington Hospital, and the length of her recovery is uncertain as she remains in a state of minimal consciousness. Neethu is only 35 years old, a loving mother to a 6-year-old boy.

Neethu does not have trauma insurance, and unfortunately, ACC will not cover her case as it does not fall under the category of accidents. Joseph is also unable to work because he needs to stay with Neethu at the hospital, which has halted their entire income.

Additionally, daily living expenses for Joseph's temporary stay near the hospital, along with housing and utility bills back in Palmerston, have exhausted their financial resources, leaving them struggling to cover these costs.
