August Update
31 August 2020Hi Everyone! We thought it would be time to let you know that unfortunately the drug pazopanib hasn't been working. All tumours have grown and they have now also found another one at the base of Dad's spine. This is what has been causing him so much pain. He is under hospice care for his palliative care now. They arranged a high dose of radiation for Dad which he had last week. This was to help with the pain. There is nothing more they can do for him which is a massive kick in the guts. Worst case he only has 2 months left. As always Dad is staying super positive and wanting to make the most of his time left. Mum and Dad left to head to Whananaki today. This is where Dad was born. He wanted to go back and have a look around (tick off another bucket list item). Any further funds will now be used towards funeral costs as well as helping with Dad's care and possible bucket list items while he can still get around.
We want to thank you all so much for your kind words and support. It has meant the world to our family and still does. Feel free to still share this page, we want to give Dad the best send off possible when the time comes so every dollar helps.
The photo that is uploaded with this update was another bucket list item for Dad. He is standing with Mum (Robynne) and his granddaughter (Eva) outside the house in Pukerua Bay where he grew up. Such a special thing to be able to see this place and see the happiness in Dad as he told us about the place and the memories he had here.
