We need your help for our dearest friend Nic.

In June 2025 life changed as we know it. Nic found a lump in the shower and that was the beginning of life forever changing for her, Frankie and her two daughters Sophie and Summah. She underwent a lumpectomy, followed by a mastectomy, and then six months of chemotherapy. After that, she began radiation treatment, hoping she was on the road to recovery. She has faced everything thrown at her with strength, determination, positivity and humour.

Devastatingly, during radiation Nic noticed a rash that rapidly worsened. In a disastrous turn, she has now been diagnosed with aggressive and incurable inflammatory breast cancer. It is rapid, it is life limiting and she is fighting for options.

Despite everything, Nic continues to show incredible courage. Her focus is on spending as much precious time as possible with Frankie, Sophie and Summah, and the many family members and friends who love her so deeply.

We are raising funds to help Nic access unfunded treatment options her in NZ. One cycle of this drug here in NZ is roughly $17,000 - $22,000 every 3 weeks. In Australia, this drug is government funded!

Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward helping Nic access these treatments and easing the financial burden on her family during this incredibly difficult time.

Nic is an incredibly special friend who brings so much love and light to those around her. She is loving, kind, hilarious, fun and someone who would drop everything to help others. We are helping her fight for more time with her Frankie and their daughters.

Use of funds

We are raising funds to help Nic access unfunded treatments here in NZ and have as much time as she can with her precious family and friends. It will also go towards helping ease the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time in their lives. A Page Update will be posted once the oncologists have confirmed the treatment name.

A little update from me ❤️ 28 August 2026

Hi Team,

I had my scan & appointment with my oncologist yesterday, overall the news was relatively positive.

The current SG chemo has been working internally, which is positive news. However, it isn’t working as effectively on the inflammatory tumour that is visible, which is why my oncology team feels it’s time to change my chemo.

Unfortunately, this chemo is also non-funded in New Zealand, so it comes with a significant financial cost. It’s not the road we ever imagined travelling, but we’re incredibly grateful there are still options available and that we can keep fighting.

The scan has given us hope for more precious time, and that hope means everything to us. I’m still here, fighting every step of the way.

We cannot thank everyone enough for your love, support, messages, donations & kindness. Every contribution helps us continue accessing the treatment I need, every message reminds us we are not doing this alone.
