Support Nikhil and his family for urgent life-saving treatment after being diagnosed with a life-threatening blood cancer.
Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui
Nikhil Sharma was diagnosed in December last year with a life-threatening form of blood cancer. This devastating news has turned life upside down for him, his wife, and their 4-year-old son. At a time when the family was finally beginning to feel settled and hopeful about their future in New Zealand, they are now facing the biggest challenge of their lives.
Nikhil came to New Zealand 11 years ago and worked extremely hard through many struggles to build a life here. After years of sacrifice and determination, his family was looking forward to a stable and secure future. Sadly, this diagnosis has forced everything to stop as Nikhil now focuses on fighting for his life.
Medical specialists have strongly recommended that he undergo a bone marrow transplant as soon as possible to give him the best chance of survival. Due to resource constraints in New Zealand, this treatment option has not been made available to him here, and the family has had to explore urgent treatment options in India. Nikhil is in India at the moment and undergoing treatment.
Any support, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference and help ease some of the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time. The family would also be deeply grateful for your thoughts and prayers.
Palmerston North Sikh Society Incorporated is a registered charitable organisation based in Palmerston North. The Society serves the spiritual, cultural, educational, and community needs of the local Sikh community and the wider public.
