Ninja the cat suffered a significant injury, help his fur mum get him back rabbiting again!
Ngaruawahia, Waikato
Hi,
On the night of the 4th, Ninja, came home with a serious injury where it appears he has impaled his inner thigh on something, and then ripped himself open from his thigh to his belly in the process of getting off to come home.
He has just finished surgery, which was longer and more complicated than expected, as we thought we were dealing with a tear injury, but it involved a huge amount of time trying to fix up the damage to his thigh muscle. My normally active rabbiter is also confined to a crate for the next few weeks to allow him to heal.
Ninja is almost 3 years old, a much treasured family pet, and best mate of Blaz the dog. Ninja adores cuddles, food, and hunting rabbits to bring home.
I'm not normally one to ask for help, but this after hours vet bill on a public holiday is a lot more than I was anticipating. We would be grateful for any help towards his $2000 treatment.
Vet bills, which amount to $2000 so far. If we are fortunate enough to receive more donations, they will be paid forward to another fur baby in need.
Doing well 21 January 2023
Ninja is now allowed out of his crate for short periods of time to allow him to get the muscle moving. He faces a long sentence inside before he can go rabbiting again. His external wound is healing nicely and he had his stitches out on Wednesday. We are very happy with his progress. He likes being put of the crate and relaxing on the floor!
