Support The Wonderful Wilburys to complete their tour bus and tour an educational magic school show.

Nationwide

The Wonderful Wilbury's are Steve, Rachel and their little boy Lewis. They represent a modern take on the traditional circus family. Steve and Rachel have been performing together for over 15 years and Lewis had his first gig at the age of 3 as a Christmas Elf.

They need your help to complete modifications to their one of a kind 1955 Leyland Tiger Cub tour bus which will then be used to tour an educational magic and circus show to schools.

The show is Called "The Phone Show" and shows young people how the technology they consume influences their thoughts, behaviors and actions. This is illustrated through interactive comedy and magical illusions. Once the tricks of the phone are revealed the group come together to develop ways to turn the tables and use technology only in the ways that suit them.

Their bus is the only 1955 Leyland Tiger Cub embodied by Modern Motor Bodies in Christchurch and only one of 4, 1955 tiger cubs imported in NZ. British Buses Abroad did an article on our restoration and called it "an important piece of NZ motoring heritage". Your support will help to restore and preserve this bus to a high standard in order to honor it's heritage.

As well as supporting the show and restoration you will be helping a family. Steve Wilbury has had seven surgical procedures leaving him with central sensitization and severe chronic pain. As a result he can no longer keep up with maintaining a rental property. The tour bus will become the Wilbury's permanent home. The smaller living space will support them to live within their means. You will also be helping one of the last real circus families keep an ancient heritage alive.

p.s. we're not smelly hippies we're executive circus hippies

Use of funds

Restoration of a 1955 Tiger Cub and Tour Expenses. If there is any surplus it will mean we can take the show to more schools.
