Oscar needs life saving treatment to fight cancer.
Having been diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer in March 2022, Oscar had surgery and 12 rounds
of adjuvant chemo that finished in Feb 2023. His follow-up CT-Scan showed no evidence of disease
(NED).
Follow-up scans and two colonoscopies showed NED.
Fast forward May 2024, an MRI and PET /CT scan showed metastases to the liver and around the abdominal area. His oncologist said he will need ongoing treatment
He will have chemotherapy, but will need immunotherapy which isn't state funded.
Oscar was separated from his partner due to the cancer treatment, and then separated further when New Zealand went into lockdown during covid.
Finally Oscar and Anna are together, only to face the next challenge in their lives as Oscar start treatment to attack the cancer that threatens to come between them once more.
The medication/treatment is not funded in New Zealand, and will cost at least$50,000.00 not including all of the peripheral costs to be incurred in getting to and from treatments.

Two Cycles Done 1 August 2024
Dear my Kiwi Whanau
So, I have had two cycles of FOLFIRI treatment, and so far, it has been okay. I have had mild tiredness and acid reflux as side effects. I hope the next few cycles will not bring severe side effects.
I saw a liver specialist a few days ago, and he said, We aren't worried about cirrhosis, as your liver fibrosis report is okay.
I am in good spirits and hopeful that things will turn out for the better. I exercise as much as I can to keep me sane, lol. I haven't yet started the unfunded treatment, i.e., Avastin. Hopefully, I will have my infusion very soon.
