  • Unsettled night

Ottie couldn’t get to sleep until 2am, and of course that meant that Matt also couldn’t sleep until then. It might be a long day today, but we have physio and a check up in the afternoon, so we will have a better idea of what’s happening then. Photo shows the princess wrapped up in front of the fire, looking a bit lost and bewildered!

Ottie has had a good day at home, resting and recuperating. Her medication regimen is pretty rigorous, so Matt had been on his toes all day. She is comfy, warm and full, and has settled in for the evening. First day of physio tomorrow so she will need a good sleep ( so will Matt).

  • Ottie is out of surgery!

Thanks to the incredible work by Bex and the team at Animal Orthopaedics, Ottie has come through surgery with 2 plates and a variety of other hardware. Apparently it was even more complicated than anticipated as the x-ray had not shown all of the small pieces of bone that also needed to be put back in place.

Their care and expertise was exceptional and she came home last night with a myriad of medications.

Matt slept on the floor beside her, administering those throughout the night.

This morning she is pretty exhausted ( as is Matt!) but she has eaten a little breakfast and is resting comfortably.

Here she is in the recovery room.

    More updates to follow.
