Ottoline the rehomed greyhound has broken her leg in several places and requires specialised orthopaedic surgery to put it back together
Christchurch, Canterbury
Ottoline ( Ottie) is an almost 2 year old greyhound came to us as a pup, and has been working in the counselling department of the school where I work, supporting students ( and staff) when they need a cuddle or a welcome distraction from their days. She is loving, mischievous, bouncy and snuggly, and she loves chewing sticks, stealing snacks, licking noses and doing zoomies on the grass. Unfortunately on Tuesday she ran WAY too fast and broke her front leg in several places. Now she needs specialist (and expensive) surgery to get her back on her feet and back to school. Her surgery and physiotherapy will cost almost $10,000, so we are asking that if you would like to help in any way we would really appreciate it.
She has been incredibly brave, and has won the hearts of the medical staff, who are working very hard to piece her back together and get her back to school where she can brighten people’s days again.
Thankyou for your care and support.
The money raised will go directly towards paying for the cost of Ottoline’s surgery.
Unsettled night 17 April 2026
Ottie couldn’t get to sleep until 2am, and of course that meant that Matt also couldn’t sleep until then. It might be a long day today, but we have physio and a check up in the afternoon, so we will have a better idea of what’s happening then. Photo shows the princess wrapped up in front of the fire, looking a bit lost and bewildered!
Thankyou for your kindness. Much appreciated 🙏
