Help our friend Lisa get through Alopecia

Lisa Greville is a kind and caring person who would do anything for anyone. She is a fantastic teacher, friend and boss who goes above and beyond for all of the kids and people in need that she comes across. She drives kids to and from sports who wouldn't otherwise be able to get there. She will also pay for them if they can't afford it and feed them. Not that she would tell people this!

I think it is time for us to help her.

Lately her hair has been falling out from alopecia. She now has a bald head. Large bald patches developed that were impossible to conceal. It was so distressing having patchy hair and watching her hair fall out in lumps each day that Lisa finally made the difficult decision to have the patches of hair that she still had shaved off.

She has purchased synthetic wigs, but they deteriorate quickly and become unwearable in a very short period of time. These wigs are also very uncomfortable. She has already spent a large amount of money on these unsuitable wigs. She also ordered some head covers which somehow have gone missing with Covid-19 and the mail system. This is really upsetting her, despite the brave front she has put on. I worry about the impact it is having on her mental health. She does not want to go out for a walk or even answer the door if someone arrives at the house.

Lisa deserves to be able to purchase a human hair wig that will help her to feel beautiful and start living her life again. These are expensive and at the moment they can't afford it. The Ministry of Health wig subsidy is minimal and has to last 9 years. It won't even cover one wig. Most decent wigs are over $3000 (and last a maximum of 18 months to two years). Any extra money raised that is not needed by Lisa would be used to help someone else in a bad situation. It would not be used for personal gain.

Lisa is embarrassed by this situation, but I truly believe that she deserves our help as you cannot measure the good she does for others.
