A massive thank you!
4 May 2020I am completely overwhelmed by the support of so many beautiful people! I want to say how humbled I am. I am struggling with; I guess it is, embarrassment, as I realise how fortunate I am in so many ways. There are people far worse off than me.
Despite how many times I have told myself that it is only hair and that I am ridiculous, I have struggled with it. Massive respect for those incredible people who have the confidence to rock a bald head - I am not there yet. Honestly, before this, I had no idea how much wigs cost or how uncomfortable some of them, and how quickly synthetic ones go horrible. I feel for people who have lived with Alopecia for longer. I appreciate how hard it must be for them with the subsidy not even being enough to cover one nice human hair wig and now know that that they will need several different hair-pieces in that time.
However, my incredible friends and the messages and kindness from so many people have helped me more than you can imagine. To all the people that have thanked me for the things I have done for them or their children or families; I love helping people, and I have never expected recognition. Also, thank you to those people that have helped me feel deserving of this kindness. I have to tell you there have been many tears reading your messages, seeing your donations, the private messages, and after your phone calls. (Happy tears!)
So again, a huge thank you, and I will think of every one of you and your kindness when I can wear 'hair' and not feel so self-conscious. I can assure you that I will continue to help as many people as I can going forward xxx
