Help our Picton Girl Guides get to Jamboree 2022

$385 of $6,328 goal
Given by 7 generous donors in 10 weeks

We plan to raise a total of $9494NZD to ensure that 'No girl is left behind' & we can get all our Picton Girl Guides & leaders to Jamboree.

Marlborough

All the girls and leaders in Picton Girl Guides would really like to attend Girl Guide Jamboree in Hamilton, NZ in January 2022. We are the Picton Guides Parent Support Group, made up of caregivers to the girls, and we are collectively fundraising to ensure that 'no girl is left behind' and to remove the financial barriers to attendance.

The Picton Guides Parent Support Group will be planning and running all the fundraising events, with our girls helping, allowing our Guide Leaders to focus on getting our girls ready for this amazing adventure. To find out more about the exciting Jamboree activities our girls will be taking part in, take a look at the website at https://girlguidingnz.org.nz/Jamboree.

The aim of this Give-A-Little page is to make it easier for friends and family who wish to make a donation to our fundraising pot. Every dollar of money fundraised by our Parent Support Group is split equally between girls and leaders and paid directly to either the individual's Jamboree fee account at GirlGuidingNZ, or to pay group bills directly related to jamboree. No monies are paid directly to families - we pay their bills directly for them.

We have 7 girls, 3 leaders and 1 carer that are registered to attend. Total cost of attendance and travel for our girls and their leaders is $11,9696 NZD. Fees are $995 per Guide/$1322.50 per Senior Guide (Ranger)/$350 per Leader, plus travel at $268 per person. All attendees, except the carer, are required to pay their own deposit ($300 for girls and $125 for leaders), which leaves us a total fundraising target of $9494. The target on this fundraising page will be regularly adjusted to reflect the balance of funds needed taking into account other fundraising activities.

Before setting up this page (on 19 May 2021), we have already raised $2,293 which almost covers our travel, and we have lots of further fundraising activities planned. The girls have set themselves a target to raise $2000 through their ongoing community service project running the Aluminium Can Recycling Banks (x 3) in Picton, NZ with their Guide Leaders. Our Parent Support Group plans to do raffles, car boot sales, a disco, a quiz, car wash, sausage sizzles and lots of other 'stuff' to fundraise the balance.

If we do not achieve our fundraising target by 1 September 2021, then each family will be required to find the balance of fees themselves; we are trying really hard to make sure this doesn't happen... Our mantra - No girl left behind !

If we fundraise more than our target, then additional monies will go towards buying essential equipment the girls need for Jamboree, to help lighten that financial burden too - which could be as simple as sun lotion, plates & cups, uniforms that fit - or larger items such as sleeping bags suitable to the conditions and bags for travelling. Any large equipment purchased will be donated to our local Guide Unit after jamboree and made available for loan to girls in the future.

We would love for you to support us in getting our girls to Jamboree and helping them make memories to treasure, skills for life, and lifelong friends.
