Help our team get to Twizel for the 2023 Uni Rowing Champs

$1,696 donated
Given by 15 generous donors in 4 weeks

AUBC is travelling down to Ashburton for the 2023 Uni Rowing Champs and is looking for generous hands to help cover the costs.

Auckland

AUBC is a non-profit charity that provides the opportunity for students from the University of Auckland to represent their university at tertiary-level regattas. This year, we're embarking on the journey of heading down to Twizel for the national champs hosted on the 8th of April.

Given that we're flying down & that it's around Easter, this is unfortunately an expensive endeavour. As such, we're hoping that there are generous donors in our community who can lend a helping hand to support us in our efforts to get our crews out there and racing.

If you're willing and able to help the team, then we kindly ask that you help subsidise our costs. Any amount would be great! Let's bring the Hebb home.

UPDATE: Champs has been shifted to Twizel due to the Algal Bloom found in Lake Hood. As such, costs will be higher. So please donate if you can in order to help our team out!

Location Change & Regatta Complete  11 April 2023

Kia ora whanau & friends,

AUBC would like to pass on our sincerest gratitude to everyone who has donated!

A lot has transpired over the last week, including a last-minute change to Twizel which resulted in a wide array of arrangements being changed in a full-on scramble.

Our team has competed and though we, unfortunately, did not win the Hebb, we managed to rack up the following placements:

Men's Champ VIII: 3rd

Women's Varsity IV: 2nd

Men's Champ Double: 3rd

Women's Varsity VIII: 2nd

Men's Varsity IV: 3rd

Men's LW Pair: 2nd

Men's Champ Quad: 3rd

Women's Varsity Pair: 1st

Women's 2nd Varsity Pair: 3rd

Women's Varsity Quad: 1st

Men's Champ Pair: 1st

All the results can be seen here: https://rowit.nz/nzuu2023/results?cn=aklu

After the event, our team had a curveball thrown at us in the cancellation of our return flight. Fortunately, all was sorted in the end and our teammates are now back home & resting after a hectic Champs period.

Once again, we'd like to sincerely thank everyone who has donated. We'll keep the page up for a while if anybody would like to help subsidise the costs of our team any further. Any donation would be extremely well appreciated as this has been an extremely difficult period with all the last-minute arrangement changes.

Thanks for all the support,

AUBC

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
