Help Paul raise funds for a robotic-assisted prostatectomy
Whanganui, Manawatu-Wanganui
I never thought I would hear the word "cancer" for a diagnosis. But now I have to face a radical prostatectomy. This outlook hits me deeply .
People who know me, know that I have challenged my urologist and surgeon about the procedures, side effects, and recovery process. I have even tried alternative methods to fight this prostate cancer over the past months, but unfortunately, there has not been a miracle cure.
Now I am back talking to my urologist. He is optimistic and specific; robotic-assisted surgery will be the treatment with minimally invasive methods compared to the open surgery. Chances are high functions will remain largely intact, and side effects will be minimal or will disappear over weeks and months.
I'm self-employed, a father and a grandfather. I have a loyal support group, but costs for the robotic-assisted prostatectomy are not funded in New Zealand. And this is why I'm doing this.
I've never, ever thought I'd be asking for help, but I am. Cancer is never easy to deal with, but any contribution you can provide is appreciated.
Thank you.
Paul
