Suraj Shrestha is the Nepalese tour guide I use for my worldwidewalks.net treks in Nepal. He is an excellent guide and a good friend.
Suraj's sister-in-law, Ram Maya Shrestha, is in hospital after loosing her baby six-months into her pregnancy. With the Covid-19 situation and without any trekking work they have no way of paying for the hospital bill which is currently looking to be about 180,000 rupees (NZ$2300).
Ram has been in hospital for 31 days and was shifted out of ICU to a ward 7 days ago. She is hopeful to be discharged in another week.
The ICU charge will be about 150,000 rupees and the general bed about 30,000.
Suraj and his brother have not had work for 7 months now.

Use of funds
The money will be spent on the hospital bills for Ram Maya Shrestha and any medicines or medical follow up she needs. If there is any money left over it will go towards food for Ram's family.
