    Hello everyone,

it has been 3 months since the war started the other day, unfortunatelly it does not look like it is going to end anytime soon.

I have received second (and final) payment from Givealittle, total donated in May was 523 NZD, but received only 496 NZD due to the Givealittle fees. I topped it up to 527 and transfered half and half of this sum to both organisations - via TransferWise again to avoid fees.

    Transfer details attached.

So this is the end of this appeal, but as I said the issue did not go away. If you feel like it donate to Unicef or Red Cross NZ.

THank you all for your donations.

    best Jan and Eva

As promised, here are the details about 2 payments done to People in Need and Post Bellum. I got 690 NZD from Givealittle (donations done in March), well in fact I received 659 NZD as 31 NZD was a service fee for Givealittle. Anyway, I decided to top it up back to 690. Then to avoid huge bank fees for sending international payment from NZD to CZK I moved the money to my Wise.com NZD account for free and sent it from there, with fee 5 NZD in total. 2 payments, 345 NZD for People in Need, 345 NZD for Post Bellum, both payments attached.

I will repeat this for the second money payout which Givealittle will transfer around 25th of May (donations made during April), and will again post it here.

thank you all, you have really helped!

    best

Hello everyone, first of all many many thanks for your donations, we have reached NZD 1000 which is great!

I have received first payment from Givealittle today, money donated between 1-31 March. I will sent those to both organisations as originally planned. Then, when I receive final payment of donations made in April (should be sent on 25th of May) I will do the same. For this reason I have also extented the fundraiser till the end of April.

As promised I will share details about payments with you.

    thanks again, best

  • hello everyone,

      2 April 2022

first of all thank you for all your donations, much appreciated. They will be much needed and appreciated.

According to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, more than 10,3 mln (almost 1/4 of the total population) people have fled their homes in Ukraine.

    • more than 6.5 mln people were displaced inside Ukraine

    • 4 mln left the country, usually to Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Germany etc etc

The devastation is beyond comprehension, you all know about the situation in Mauripol, which is still under control of Russian Army – here is short video depicting how much is the city destroyed https://twitter.com/IntelArrow/status/1509237906417795077?s=20&t=lFy-CtPB9nkkUutLU6T32w

But also other cities are in similar situation, it is especially visible now when some of them, around Kyiv, were liberated by Ukrainian army and they see the damage – like Irpin here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsrD_lBIs0k&t=7s

Recent updates from People in Need are available here https://www.peopleinneed.net, they are helping a lot, in and also outside Ukraine.

Please if you can share this with anyone who would be able to donate, please do so, thank you
