HELP PILAR RECOVER WITH A FLOWER WALL-GARDEN

  • Round 3 is nearly finished

    Pilar started the final part of Round 3 today, but this time she is carrying 'her little friend' around the house with her, she has a portable chemo unit for the next 5 days, we will need to go back to the hospital on Thursday for a refill.......she is feeling really good. The house is warm & clean, thanks Mirta Porras

    Pilar has completed the first part of the chemo session for this round, she is feeling good, no headaches, she has to stay in the hospital for 4-5 days so the chemo can be flushed from her system

    Pilar has been struggling over the last week, we have a doctors appointment on Thursday, hopefully we will get some questions answered about the headaches and other issues. A MRI scan is scheduled for Wednesday......

    More bloods and another Lumbar Puncture done today, good news now only once a week , now time to rest. Pilar always said how lucky she is with all the support from our beautiful family and friends , we love you all

    Pilar was able to have a shower, just been down for an ultra sound. Nearly finished chemo, she feeling good. Looking forward to going home but need to wait for results of tests

    Today Pilar almost had a shower that was interrupted by nurses taking her for an ultra sound, then that was postponed till tomorrow....... no shower, no ultra sound, all going well.... probably go home tomorrow!!!

    Pilar is doing well, food is not tasting that good anymore, but she is eating to keep energy levels high, thanks to John Wang, Tania Reardon, Peter Reardon and the girls. Pilar de la Torre and John Beechey were here in the evening. Thanks for little gift Nancy Santana

    at last, the Chemo started, Pilar had a Brain CT scan good news they found a brain and hopefully nothing else, results come soon, Pilar is ok but feeling a bit tired, love you Pilar Feijoo from far away

    back at the hospital today for bloods, PICC line & Lumbar Punch via ultrasound, the last couple of days Pilar has been relaxing at home, feeling good. She will start the second round of Chemo on Thursday

    yesterday was not a great day, another lumbar punch and chemo treatment, a close friend lost her fight with cancer and Pilar has hair loss but woke with a smile on her face and hair on her pillow...

    Pilar has had some visitors today and went for a walk to the shops with Karina Palacios & Patricia Santana then had KFC at home for dinner, the flower wall is looking really good, thanks again for everyone's support and kindness

    We are off to the hospital for bloods today and the Intrathecal chemotherapy injection, in Pilar's words, I am ok and I can drink wine, my doctor says so 🥂🥂

    I was home this morning and Pilar started crying, she has not felt this good for a long time, she understands that she is full of chemo, but the feeling of no pain is amazing, a big hug followed, John

    Pilar is heading home for the rest of Easter, spinal fluid is clear now of cancer, Pilar will need to continue lumba injections but the news is good, no negative reactions to chemo yet, thank you to everyone for the prayers, thoughts and positive energy, love you all 👨‍❤️‍👨👨‍❤️‍👨😁😁

    Day 8 - day 7 did not go as planned and Pilar is back in the Motutapu Ward, complications with the PICC line, she will be glamping in Motutapu for Easter, able to see visitors but text Pilar first, she is happy to be here as the care is amazing, sending love and kisses to everyone

    we all know that Pilar is a strong lady and has an amazing presence, her bubbly personality is very contagious, this is already affecting staff & patients in the ward.

    She is feeling good today, treatments are progressing without issues

    She is keen for people to visit but please text first, no phone calls please

    Pilar will start the Chemo today (Thursday 22 March), she will be at the Motutupu Ward at Auckland Hospital, visiting hours are 11am to 8pm, but we ask that you make contact with John first, he will have an update on Pilar's condition, please keep the calls / text messages to Pilar's mobile to a minimum
