Help Piper get to the Hockey Nationals - Growing Trees, Chasing Dreams! 🏑🌳

Hi everyone! I'm Piper, and I've been selected to represent Newlands College at the Eveline Hankers Memorial Winter Hockey Tournament 25-29 Aug. I’m really grateful as I have only just joined the team and it’s such an exciting opportunity to compete against other colleges from around NZ and represent my school with pride.

As part of preparing for the tournament and with a short payment deadline of 6 weeks, all the players have been encouraged to do individual fundraising alongside the team efforts we are exploring.

The tournament involves travel, accommodation, fees, meal and costs for the school to provide a relief teacher while we take one away with us for the week.

I have decided to make my fundraiser an environmental volunteering goal and have committed to source, plant and care for native trees in Belmont Regional Park. I have secured the support from an awesome local community volunteer who has agreed to teach me the ropes and get me started to plant a section of native trees over the next few weeks. I will then return on regular basis for the next 18 months to weed and water our little piece of native forest to give it the best possible chance.

Every donation, big or small, helps me reach my fundraising goal and will directly put a native tree back into our environment. I’m excited to see what we can achieve.
