Help Pukekohe East School Bus Society replace their aging bus

$90 of $150,000 goal

Please support a unique school bus operation to maintain its community role into the future.

Pukekohe East, Auckland

The Pukekohe East School Bus started in 1946 when a group of parents altered a Ford V8 van to carry 16 children. It was the first cooperatively-owned school bus in New Zealand, and today it’s the only cooperatively-owned school bus still operating.

Our school bus is owned and operated by the Pukekohe East School Bus Society, a non-profit organisation operated and supported by parent volunteers.

Every child at Pukekohe East School benefits from the bus, through transport to sports and special events, and educational classroom outings. Around one third of our school children also rely on the bus to get to and from school.

Unfortunately, the bus is nearing the end of its life and we are currently fundraising to replace it.

The school bus gets no government funding. It is 100% community-funded.
