Raising funds for recently rehomed rescue dog Ragnar’s cruciate ligament surgery.
Tauranga, Bay Of Plenty
Ragnar is a beautiful, majestic boy who’s already been through far too much in his life. He’s been rehomed twice, and sadly, both of his previous homes let him down. His first owner had him desexed far too young, which we believe may have contributed to the cruciate ligament damage he’s now suffering from. His second owner ignored the signs of pain and limping — leaving Ragnar to suffer in silence.
Within the first week of bringing Ragnar home, Wade, his new owner, noticed he wasn’t weight-bearing on one of his back legs and immediately took him to the vet. The diagnosis: severe cruciate ligament damage. 🩺💔
Surgery is now urgent and unavoidable. We’ve received several quotes, with the highest being $7,000. Thankfully, a compassionate vet in Rotorua has generously offered to do the surgery for $4,500. So far, we’ve managed to raise $1,500 through Facebook — and we’re incredibly grateful for every dollar.
We’re also incredibly grateful for the kindness people have already shown — from donations, to advice, to gifted items like dog steps, and all the encouraging messages. Every share, every dollar, every kind word… it truly means the world. ❤️
Ragnar is a gentle giant with a goofy, loving soul. It’s heartbreaking to see him in pain, and we’re so conscious of the pressure his weight puts on his injured leg. This surgery will relieve his pain, give him back his quality of life, and help prevent further damage.
Ragnar was rehomed to Wade (his owner) via Livvy’s Pals rescue.
We’ve now launched this Givealittle to help cover the remaining $3,000. Wade is a single dad, working hard to provide the best for Ragnar… but like so many of us, he doesn’t have thousands tucked away. Every single bit counts!!
