Join our mission to save Renee's life. Renee is a dancer, devoted mother, beloved friend, & someone who has spent her life bringing energy, laughter & light to everyone around her.

Renee has battled Lupus for over a decade, carrying that fight quietly. But over the past 6 months her health has declined in ways impossible to ignore, & the past couple of months have taken a dangerous, frightening turn.

Renee is now facing the fight of her life. She has advanced liver disease & failing kidneys, so urgently needs a dual transplant. As a Kiwi living in the USA, the healthcare system is complex. Although she has medical insurance, it doesn't cover everything, & some care she urgently needs to save her life has long waitlists & significant out of pocket costs.

Renee is Mom to her beautiful daughter, Eden. More than anything, we want to give Eden the chance to grow up with her Mom, and give Renee the chance to raise her.

We want to see Renee healthy, laughing, and being Mom. We want to see her dance again! 💛

I'm Amanda, and like many of you - am one of Renee's lifelong childhood friends. We grew up dancing together, traveling the country and world for competitions, and our families became like one big extended family along the way.

Use of funds

Donations will go toward medical expenses, treatment and recovery costs, transportation, and everyday living costs while Renee is unable to work in the USA.

Additional update to 18 Oct 20 October 2026

A few people have lovingly asked what the funds raised are actually going toward right now, especially given Renee hasn't yet been approved for her transplant yet. We want to be completely open with you, because every donation matters and you deserve to know exactly where it's going.

Right now, the funds are supporting two things: keeping Renee alive and as stable as possible while she works toward meeting the criteria to reapply for transplant in around a month, and supporting her recovery once she gets there.

This includes:

• Accommodation close to the medical centres where she needs regular procedures, including dialysis and paracentesis every few days

• Transport to and from clinics and hospital appointments

• Everyday essentials like food, clothing, and things to help keep her comfortable

• Costs tied to completing what's required for her to reapply for the transplant

We know some of Renee's medical details are private and sensitive, and we hope you can understand and respect her right to keep those parts of her journey to herself. What we can tell you is that every dollar is going directly toward keeping her alive and giving her the best possible chance when the time comes.
