Creative, compassionate and faith-led, Richard needs help accessing life-changing brain injury treatment not available in New Zealand.

My name is Richard Dawson.
I’m 57 years old and live near Palmerston North. I’m currently battling PPCS (Persistent Post Concussion Symptoms), a complex condition that has deeply impacted my life.
Since my first injury in 2023, I’ve been unable to consistently work full time. The symptoms are ongoing, affecting my ability to function day-to-day.
There is hope though: an advanced treatment clinic in Utah, USA, offers a breakthrough approach using Functional Neurocognitive Imaging (fNCI) technology. This cutting-edge diagnostic tool allows for precise imaging of brain function and helps tailor intensive rehabilitation therapy to each patient. Their two-week multidisciplinary program has given many people their lives back, and I’m hopeful it could do the same for me.
The good news, as of late August, is that a significant funding boost was granted and I'm within several thousand dollars of my page goal of $20,000 NZD. This has given my wife Rosanne and I enough confidence to go ahead and book my treatment beginning on the 29th September this year.
We have also booked airfares and in faith are leaving NZ on the September 25th.
If you feel comfortable helping us crack the total we need, you know already that we'll be very grateful, just as we are grateful for all the support we've received so far from others.

Ngā mihi nui,
Richard
Treatment costs, travel and accommodation. If too much is raised I'd like to help others with the same condition and/or contribute to several issues close to my heart, including affordable housing.
Traveling at last! 23 September 2025
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me on my quest to attend CognitiveFX in Utah, USA :) Rosanne and I have begun our journey and fly out of Auckland on Thursday :) As you can imagine, this is a big deal for us so we'd really appreciate your prayer support too as much as we've appreciated your financial support. Praying for safe travel to and fro, a hugely successful treatment and a clear path to walk upon our arrival home in a few weeks. Much love from us both. Richard & Rosanne :)
Thank you so much guys. This is very generous of you all and we really appreciate your support :)
This is a huge boost to our fundraising Paal! Thank you very much for your generous support :)
