We require help to get to Melbourne to compete in the Spartan Australia Bright Trifecta Weekend. Also fundraising for the Heart Foundation.
Bay of Plenty
In April earlier this year, Richard competed in the Spartan Australia Race with a group from his gym. For those of you who don't know, Spartan Race has three different events (distances) with many obstacles designed to test competitors both mentally and physically. The three events are Beast 21km, Super 14km, and Sprint 7km. Richard and his team completed the 21km course. During fundraising to attend this event, Richard and his team raised a phenomenal amount of money for The Heart Foundation.
The Heart Foundation's mission is to stop all people in New Zealand dying prematurely from heart disease and enable people with heart disease to live full lives. They do this by providing support, care and advice to people and their families affected by heart disease, fund research and training, and run education and prevention programmes in the community.
On the 17th of November, there is the opportunity to complete the Trifecta - complete the two remaining events in one weekend! After supporting Richard through his fundraising efforts for the first event, his partner Hope saw how much fun they had and has decided to join Richard in completing the remaining two events.
We are asking for as much help as we can to pay for flights to Melbourne, and to raise more funds for The Heart Foundation to continue the kaupapa Richard and the team started back in April.
Funds will be used for:
- Flights to Melbourne $1,000
- Donation to The Heart Foundation $1,000
