  • Darling Rosie is coming back full circle 🌹

Thank you all from the bottom of Suzie, Rosie and the family’s hearts for your ongoing support.

Rosie has almost come full circle… she is still having Physio twice per week and has moved up to hydrotherapy. Whilst she is taking things slowly she is back walking the metropolis of Rolleston and has even recently become a foster sister again!

As someone who has watched Rosie’s journey throughout I want to say a huge thank you to all who have supported her. Finally to Rosie’s mum Suzie who has done the huge massively hard slog, when at times it felt like all hope was lost but never gave up on her girl- thank you. Best hound mumma in the world!!

    Update from Suzie-

    HUGE MILESTONE

Rosie had her x-rays today and clinically, Rosie's knees are looking great! The splints are holding and the xrays today confirmed she is ready to up the Physio and.... go for a walk out the house on stable ground 😍🌹

Thank you everyone who got us to this point! It's been a hell of a ride and whilst we are not out the woods yet... it's a GREAT step forward 😍😍😍

Photo of Rosie (still drowsy from sedation), my brave girl and the most expensive thing I'll probably ever own 🤣

  • Rosie is slowly progressing 🌹

Apologies firstly for the slowness of this update- time has literally run away on me.

Thank you so much for all of your continued support both in well wishes, thoughts and financially. It means so much to Rosie, Suzie and the family. Rosie’s 2nd surgery was successful and so far the implant seems to be holding!

It has been a challenging time though with plenty of ups and downs. Rosie upon arriving at a physio session last week appeared to be limping again which was terrifying for Suzie with everyone immediately being concerned that the implant had failed again. Thankfully Rosie seemed to have come right- who knows what the limp that day was about but she’s weight bearing and slowly making her way through recovery. It is a slow process as Suzie is ensuring plenty of rest and recovery time to put as little pressure on the implants whilst also ensuring enough movement to keep the healing happening. It’s boring for Rosie but Suzie is doing lots of things like lickimats to keep her brain busy whilst her physical recovery catches up.

We are hoping that things continue to progress as they are currently- slowly but with definite progress. Thank you all once again.

    ♥️🌹 Rosie Update 🌹♥️

It has been a week of highs followed by low lows. Rosie up until last Wednesday was doing beautifully well. She was walking, Physio was going fabulously and Suzie was doing an incredible job of managing her movement.

Devastatingly and inexplicably (nobody knows why) on Wednesday evening one of Rosie's implants failed. After no really improvement despite ongoing Physio, X-rays today showed the implant failure on one leg. The other leg implant is perfect.

Suzie was faced today with the horrific decision of euthanasia or further surgery. With that in mind tomorrow Rosie will have a final chance of recovery with further surgery. Then we keep everything crossed that this time it works. The good news is as the other leg is doing well this should all going well help with stability for the leg that is needing further surgery.

Suzie and family are broken, exhausted and sad but also keeping everything crossed for Rosie.

If you are able to spare even a little please do donate. This has been and continues to be an incredibly difficult time for Rosie, Suzie and family and they need all our support.

It's so so so so appreciated ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Thank you so much to you all for your continued support for Rosie, Suzie and family. It really has meant the world to them.

It is now a week and one day since Rosie had her surgery. It’s definitely been an up and down time with the excitement of her coming home followed by having to head back to the vets the day after due to her pain levels. It was really hard for Suzie and her family to see Rosie in such pain but the good news is Rosie is soooo much better now. Rosie came home again for the second time last Friday and has now reached the stage of standing and walking unsupported/with her harness on but bearing weight completely herself. Now the challenge starts with her rehabilitation and making sure Rosie doesn’t do too much too soon.

A huge shout out and thanks to Elena from Animal Physio and her team who have been seeing Rosie 3 times a week to help her recovery.

Rosie came along in her beach cart to our picnic on the weekend and she was the star of the event!

Here is an update from Suzie

    ❤️🌟 Rosie Update 🌟❤️

My sad, sore and shaved girl is home. We are currently snuggled up together and just taking in the week that has been.

The xray below shows the before and after surgery images and whilst the surgery went well, we are not out of the woods yet. Infact we are well and truly still on the little path in. The next few weeks are going to be tough both physically and emotionally for us both but I am confident we got this 💪

She's on five different drugs and not one of them I can pronounce but I am sure they are working wonders for her. She still can't stand and is whimpering away but as the saying goes... EAST, WEST, HAMES BEST!

Tomorrow we are off to start Physio 🥹😍

Thank you again to everyone 💗

    Forever grateful ❤️

  • Rosie is getting ready for surgery

Thank you for all of your continued support.

Tomorrow is surgery day. Suzie has been doing a brilliant job of keeping Rosie happy and healthy whilst she waits.

Rosie is a clever little girl who has worked out that her mum wants her to go to the toilet when she puts her outside on a puppy pad. It now happens very quickly and there have been no accidents in the last couple of days.

Rosie is definitely ready for surgery at this point and is impatient to get back up. Suzie borrowed a beach cart and Rosie has been enjoying going for a stroll with Suzie and her sisters.

The key is going to be helping Rosie to remain settled after surgery to allow her legs to heal properly.

Firstly a massive thank you for all of your support. Suzie is blown away by her friends and the greyhound community’s incredible generosity.

Wee Rosie is one seriously strong little girl! She is back home with Suzie and family whilst she waits for surgery. Despite her back legs not really functioning currently she is determined to keep trying to sit and has even tried to stand. She is very happy in herself with a waggy tail, pawing at people with her front legs for more pats and snuggling up to everyone. Despite the pain meds on board she is alert and very aware of what is going on. She is eating and drinking well and slept through most of the night with only one episode of letting Suzie know she needed to shift position at about 3am.

Toileting is tricky currently and Suzie is doing an amazing job of helping keep Rosie clean and settled. As she can’t stand she is toileting whilst lying down so there is an awful lot of puppy pads and towels in use!

We will keep everyone updated as we go along. Thank you once again. It absolutely means the world to Rosie, Suzie and the family.
