Help Rosie the Greyhound get back on her paws 🐾
Canterbury
Darling Rosie (Brainfade) is a much beloved pet of Suzie, Zara and Jess and fur sister to Bud (Opawa Bud) as well as numerous foster siblings. She (and her mum Suzie) are an integral part of the Greyhound community in Christchurch and regularly foster as well attend events to help retired Greyhounds find their forever homes. Rosie now needs our help.
On Tuesday 4th Feb Rosie had an absolutely freak accident. Whilst playing she managed to break both kneecaps and severely damage the tendons in her back legs. This is to the extent that she can’t currently weight bear on her legs at all. In order to get back on her paws it’s likely Rosie is going to need surgery.
The cost of her vet bills have (and continue to) rise steeply since yesterday. These will jump by over $12,000 when she is likely going to need surgery next week. Rosie will also need ongoing rehabilitative care after surgery.
Suzie and family give so much and never ask for anything in return. Now is the time for us to all help them.
Suzie is a dear friend of mine and is an integral part of the Christchurch Greyhound rehoming community.
To help cover the massive vet bills that Rosie’s injury has already and will continue incur.
Darling Rosie is coming back full circle 🌹 23 April 2025
Thank you all from the bottom of Suzie, Rosie and the family’s hearts for your ongoing support.
Rosie has almost come full circle… she is still having Physio twice per week and has moved up to hydrotherapy. Whilst she is taking things slowly she is back walking the metropolis of Rolleston and has even recently become a foster sister again!
As someone who has watched Rosie’s journey throughout I want to say a huge thank you to all who have supported her. Finally to Rosie’s mum Suzie who has done the huge massively hard slog, when at times it felt like all hope was lost but never gave up on her girl- thank you. Best hound mumma in the world!!
