Help Rosie the Greyhound get back on her paws ๐พ
Canterbury
Darling Rosie (Brainfade) is a much beloved pet of Suzie, Zara and Jess and fur sister to Bud (Opawa Bud) as well as numerous foster siblings. She (and her mum Suzie) are an integral part of the Greyhound community in Christchurch and regularly foster as well attend events to help retired Greyhounds find their forever homes. Rosie now needs our help.
On Tuesday 4th Feb Rosie had an absolutely freak accident. Whilst playing she managed to break both kneecaps and severely damage the tendons in her back legs. This is to the extent that she canโt currently weight bear on her legs at all. In order to get back on her paws itโs likely Rosie is going to need surgery.
The cost of her vet bills have (and continue to) rise steeply since yesterday. These will jump by over $12,000 when she is likely going to need surgery next week. Rosie will also need ongoing rehabilitative care after surgery.
Suzie and family give so much and never ask for anything in return. Now is the time for us to all help them.
Suzie is a dear friend of mine and is an integral part of the Christchurch Greyhound rehoming community.
To help cover the massive vet bills that Rosieโs injury has already and will continue incur.
Great news! 25 March 2025
Update from Suzie-
HUGE MILESTONE
Rosie had her x-rays today and clinically, Rosie's knees are looking great! The splints are holding and the xrays today confirmed she is ready to up the Physio and.... go for a walk out the house on stable ground ๐๐น
Thank you everyone who got us to this point! It's been a hell of a ride and whilst we are not out the woods yet... it's a GREAT step forward ๐๐๐
Photo of Rosie (still drowsy from sedation), my brave girl and the most expensive thing I'll probably ever own ๐คฃ
