Help me help this lovely family through this awful time that none of us would ever wish to go through.
Waikato
Ryan (22) was recently diagnosed with terminal liver cancer which is obviously devastating for his family and friends. We all want to make sure he has as many wonderful times as is possible and is as comfortable as can be.
I have recently been told that the drug company has gifted the first 4 rounds of Ryan's medicine (consisting of a Bevacizumab / Atezolizumab regime at a cost of around $70k) after his oncologist applied for that on compassionate grounds. On August 13th, Ryan was advised that a Trust has funded the administration of the medicines too which is wonderful news. The family will need to fund any further treatments because they are non-Pharmac. Unfortunately they don't have medical insurance.
I’ve set up this page so we all have a way to help the family provide Ryan with the best care and support possible.
I want to help my friend Vikki and her family to all make wonderful memories with Ryan and to generally help the family through this devastating time.
Medical care, making wonderful memories and other related costs.
Ryan is flying free 26 March 2021
Dear everyone who has supported Vikki, Ryan and the family.
We have sad news.
Ryan took his last breath this morning gently and peacefully at home with Vikki and his brother Callum beside him. Vikki says he came into the world easily and gently and left the same way.
Ryan's send off will be at Hamilton Gardens Pavilion at 1pm on Tuesday 30 March. We are all welcome.
This is the last photo Vikki has of Ryan well.
