Help Ryder secure his spot in The Remission Hall of Fame despite a run of bad luck seeing us face immediate financial hardship
Hamilton, Waikato
Since our 12y.o son Ryder's Stage 4E Hodgkin's Lymphoma diagnosis in April, we have pushed on, well aware money would be tight after I resigned from my job to be his full-time carer & my 25% sharemilking hubby dried off the cows for calving.
However, we never anticipated that everything that could go wrong would:
. Both our vehicles suffering mechanical breakdowns one after the other
. Our essential work horse, the farm quad was rolled unbeknown to us
. Our brand-new two-wheeler needed repairs before its first service due to excessive debris in the fuel system
. Then, just three days ago, our beloved kitten Nacho was hit by a car, causing a clean break through his tibia.
These are now things we can no longer afford.
Between our essential living costs, Nacho’s urgent vet care (meds, x-rays, & weekly checks for 4–6 wks), & immediate need for reliable transport to attend monthly chemo, weekly appointments, scans & treatments, we are stretched to the absolute maximum & the CD Allowance + travel subsidy we fortunately do receive of $90.75 p/w, does not go far.
Amazingly, Ryder has had a complete response to his chemo & the once huge tumour inside his body no longer exists however, completion of his 6-month scheduled treatment is essential in eliminating all Reed-Sternberg cells, allowing him to make a full recovery, eventuating in full remission.
We are so grateful for any support to help us leap this final hurdle while keeping our family moving forward during this very stressful time.
Reliable transport, daily essentials and living costs & unfunded medical costs.
