Launch ParAble into water and help make sailing more inclusive for everyone.
Wellington
At Sailability Wellington, we empower, inspire, and engage disabled people with sailing. This year, we launched a new national sailing class "ParAble' , an innovative vessel designed to make sailing safer and more inclusive for everyone.
The ParAble boat has a self-draining cockpit, carries a 240kg payload, and can be launched directly from the beach using a simple trolley. Its adaptable design can switch from learning to sail to high performance racing.
It has taken our team 13 years of dedication, design, and refinement to bring the ParAble to life. Our first boats are almost ready for the water, but we need your support to complete the final fit-out of our first six vessels, including rigging and essential components. Finishing these six yachts will allow us to host a national regatta, a key requirement for Yachting New Zealand class registration. Achieving class registration will confirm the ParAble’s compliance with NZ health and safety standards and open opportunities for other community groups across New Zealand to access this breakthrough design.
By supporting this campaign, you’re not just funding a boat, you're empowering sailors, strengthening our community, and helping Wellington lead the way in accessible sport.
Please give a little to make a big difference.
Founded in 2002, Sailability Wellington is the largest sailing program for people with disabilities in New Zealand. Operating across three sites in the Wellington region and sailing up to 6 days per week.
Completing our first six vessels with rigging and essentials. This will enable a national ParAble regatta and class registration which will open opportunities for other groups to access this breakthrough design.
